Plus it will also give more time for FA in real life to sign with players as right now the only deal has been Jeremy Affdelt to the San Francisco Giants (2 years for 8 Million). Just my thought and I have always used CubbyFan's roster set....has always been the most accurate...kudos for all your work. Sit back and have a beer
I agree, I too would just as soon wait for the Single A rerates to be done rather than have multiple releases

Ratings are all done, just have to do salaries. Don't want to put a timetable on it because for some reason things always take longer than I think but all of the hard work is done, just a matter of a few days at the most.
I hope you had a couple for me, it was a quiet weekend. I'm with the guys above. If you're going to rerate the A ballers too, I'd rather wait until the set is done and ready. Have decided at what point the roster will begin and where the IRL cutoff will be. I'd love to see it start right after the world series for both the start date and where the rosters were.

No problems with doing that, it'll help me make it a bit more polished as well.

One thing with the minor leagues though, is that often there are some outliers (too good and too bad) when you get to the A/AA levels. Guys who are going to be rated way too high or way too low, such is the bad part about using minor league equivalents.

That being said, they are far between. I'll just need you guys to keep an eye out for them after our Single-A release and let me know who you see that is perhaps rated too high. If any Single-A guys are getting current ratings over 21, I'll probably flag them.

Also, I am not sure how viable it is to start the season on November (whatever) it would be, unfortunately so far, OOTP does not recognize the 2008 season as complete then, and it just skips that year's stats. To really have the history from 2008 we have to start on January 1, 2009.

Not a huge deal, and still plan on having the entire FA crop in there, but that's where that stands as of now.

I remember running into this problem a while ago.

All of the guys are one year too old. So I export the rosters.txt file out, open it in Excel, change all the years by one, save as a CSV, but then when I try to re-import that file it locks up at 52%.

Anyone remember?

Also now that I'm going through and editing Single-A players, it's going to be pretty lengthy because there's a lot of guys that need to be added. I think I'm going to go ahead and release a roster in the next few days without the edits and then plan on the next release including Single-A.

It might take ever longer time since now the GREAT Football Manager 2009 is on the PC and that like the US version of Football will take time away from the baseball.
Sad but there comes a day tomorrow too .....

While I'm at it, I'm editing injury pronness for MLB'ers while I do salaries, but does anyone know if a higher or lower number is good/bad?

For example, for Griffey, would I make his overall pronness closer to 0 or 200 to replicate him getting hurt brushing his teeth?

Higher = more injury prone. 200 would mean they'd sneeze and give themself whiplash

Thanks! Also, does anyone perhaps know what the 2009 new league minimum is going to be? Is it changing from 390k?

NM, it will be $400,000 for the '09 season.

So Griffey is 218, good to know.
