Changing Playoff Schedules

OK, I have my league set up, run the first regular season, like the way the stats are looking and am ready to start the playoffs.

As always the automated schedule runs all of the playoffs on the same days so I delete a game to start rearranging the 1st round schedule. I go to put the rescheduled game in its place and hit the drop down to tell the game that it is a playoff game. Hmmmmm, the options are Exhibition Game, Spring Training and Regular Season. Where is the option to schedule a playoff game?

Luckily the series was won in four games but this could have really messed up my season. Am I missing something?

Yes, unfortunately, you can't edit the playoff schedules as could be done in previous versions.

Rest assured I will be pushing strongly to make sure this is rectified for OOTP2007 (it's probably too late to get it changed for this year's version).

Well that really bites. There's a larger problem with the playoff scheduling too. In my league with 8 playoff teams the seedings in the first round are fine (Best record plays the weakest wild card, etc.) but in the second round the brackets are such that the team with the best record is lined up to play the second best team while the #3 and #4 seeds are on the other side of the bracket. Therefore it is impossible to have the top two teams in the championship series.

How did you get 8 teams from both leagues? You had more then 30 teams in your MLB League.

My league is just one sub leage with five divisions of six teams. Therefore there are five division winners and three wildcard teams. I have been messing around with a lot of league set ups over the years and I really like this one with the current limitations to setting up playoffs. It also works well for scheduling. I have teams play 18 games against each team in their division (90 games) and three games against the other 24 teams (72 games).

I am hoping that next year's version will allow me to set a leauge first round byes to add more importance to the regular season.
