Minor league schedules
Have anybody created a "string" of historical minor league schedules.
The different levels have changed teams and setup over the years. My concern is mostly from 1987 until today. Perhaps I could just set up the leagues historical and OOTP fixes a fair schedule ??? |

Are there any problems with this auto scheduling in OOTP.
When I set up minors I have to rearrange the teams and the leagues to get the historical correct league setups. Will I just trust that schedule will be OK based on the amount of teams or will I have loopholes. I know I can´t get the correct historical schedules those leagues played in these years, but most important is that it is a wroking schedule. |

Check around on the Padresfan site. It's going to have a number of schedule files. The game should be able to pick one out and plug into your minor league that will be better than the schedules generated by the game.

Somebody (*whistles*) should compile a list of the minors configurations through the years. There probably are fictional schedules out there for most configurations where the historical schedules are not yet constructed.

From 1902-1957, comprising some 1,757 league-seasons, this is what I found: 4 team league (single division): 123 (7.0%) 6 team league (single division): 565 (32.2%) 8 team league (single division): 1033 (59.1%) 10 team league (single division): 8 (0.5%) Other (all single division): 18 (1.0%) The "Other" category usually consisted of leagues which operated with an odd number of teams. Eight-team leagues usually played balanced schedules of either 126, 140, or 154 games; six-team leagues usually played balanced schedules of either 120, 130, or 140 games. Divisional alignments in the minors didn't become common until the 1970s. Offhand, I'd estimate the most common divisional setup in the minors is either two 4-team divisions or two 5-team divisions. Of course, there have been numerous other alignments (e.g. 6-6, 7-7, 6-8, 8-8, 4-4-4, 5-5-4, 6-4-4). In terms of the number of games scheduled, it has, barring a few exceptions, been between 136-148 games since the mid-1960s.

How will I do the very common thing that one minor league club changes Major League club.
I ran into several over the years I´m trying for 1987 to present. Can I setup these minor leagues and keep changing "mother" club and even move them around different leagues. American Association, Pacific and International was at hand in 1987, but then later only Pacific and International. Perhaps I should just make a once in time effort to select minor leagues teams and have expansion of Major League teams in the back og my mind, so I can just put their teams in the correct Minor League. Think I should stay away from un-even leagues, but can divisions be un-even ???? |

You could have an AAA with 2 sub leagues 1 for IL-AA and 1 for PCL . You could then restructure teams and divisions as much as you want, but you probably won't find schedules for your combined IL-AA league. I seem to recall that the IL and AA played interleague games some years, though. Another problem with this setup is that playoffs would mean a championship series between the IL-AA and PCL which [rarely happened].

Then it looks like I have to setup an alltime minor league affiliations format where teams stay to one Major League club for alltime.
Also mix the AAA league to one, and hoping major league expansion can fit the formula when time come. Any historical dynasty player that can inform me of this. Minor League has to be fictional in league formation or at least fixed, OK |
