2009 MLB Schedule
Can someone make the 2009 MLB schedule for use in online leagues, or has one already been made? I'm commish of an online league and I'd prefer not to let the game schedule everyone's off days on the same day.

BTW, the 2009 MLB schedule is up on the MLB website. The game start times aren't listed, but that's not really important for OOTP. I'd do it myself if I knew how.

I do not want at this point to do the transcribing of 2430 games into a useful format from piles of web pages that do not allow easy acquisition like the mlb.com site. If you are willing to that, I can do the relatively easy step of converting to the OOTP lsdl file format.
If you are willing to take on all that grunt work, do something like make every game a line in a text file. E.g., with "MONTH,DAY,AWAY,HOME" so that three example games might look like: 4,6,STL,MIL 4,6,TEX,SEA 4,7,CHW,NYY |

I pesonally don't work on the MLB schedule until March, which is when it appears on MLB's web site with any revisions already incorporated and the game start times available in detail.

Understood LGO. Since I don't really care about start times, I can bring some sort of "custom" schedule that is close to the real MLB schedule to my league.
GMO, I'll see if I can get that text file done. I think I can. If I do, I'll post it here. |

Just so I don't waste a week working on this, the attached file, which contains April's schedule, is exactly as you need it, right GMO?

Yeah, just like that will work. When you have it done and posted I will convert it whenever I get a chance.

Ok GMO. Attached is the complete 2009 MLB schedule. I used the same team abbreviation convention I use for my online league. So the Yankees are NYY, not NYA. The Dodgers are LAD, not LAN. The Padres are SD, not SDN, etc... Also, I didn't include the all star game as OOTP schedules it automatically. If you need it, the 2009 all star game is July 14th in St. Louis.
Thanks in advance for your help. Maybe after we finish this it can be posted on Padrefan's site so others can use it, if that's ok with you. |

Nice work with the transcribing. The only issue I noticed was changing PHI to PHL. Looking at the schedule stats everything looks pretty good, so if you did not get it exactly right it sure looks like you did.
I tried to set the games to all 7:05pm local time (meaning e.g., 7:05 for @ FLA, 8:05 for @ TEX, 9:05 for @ COL, 10:05 for @ OAK). |

That's awesome man! Thanks for the help. Any objection to me submitting it to Padrefan's website as long as we're both credited?

The regular season ended today but the White Sox play the Tigers tommorow and if they win the Twins on Tuesday and the Playoffs start on Wednesday meaning in your schedule you would Schedule try and put in the Playoff Schedule for the First Round in so then we can get offseason starting in 08 meaning 15 days after the World Series is over not 1-1-09.

This is the 2009 schedule, and as such the regular season runs into the first weekend of October. It would have nothing to do with the 2008 season.
