In the top of the first, a two out error brought home the game's first run. Stovall then addeda two run single.

In the bottom of the first, the Tigers loaded the bases with one out. Delahanty went down on strikes for the second out. Moriarty then struck out to end the inning.

In the bottom of the third, Cobb put the Tigers on the board with a run-scoring single. One out later, Delahanty tied the game with a two run double. Stanage gave the Tigers the lead with a two out RBI single. It was the Tigers 10th hit of the game. Works followed with a two run triple. McIntyre finished the scoring with an RBI single. Eleven batters came to the plate with seven of them scoring.

After three: Detroit 7 Cleveland 3.

In the top of the fifth, Jackson hit an RBI single.

After six: Detroit 7 Cleveland 4.

In the top of the eighth, the Tigers committed their third error of the game. But the Naps would strand two.

The Naps only got a single base runner in the ninth.

The Tigers ended the game with 14 hits.

Final score: Detroit 7 Cleveland 4.
