The Texas Rangers fired general manager Ben Moore and pitching coach Mike Redington. Bench coach Jeff Steffee left the team when his contract was not renewed. The Texas Rangers signed team trainer Adam McCarthy to a 5-year contract extension.

The MLB off season officially began today.

The California Angels fired GM Roger Adkins.

The Oakland Athletics fired manager Dick Williams.

The St Louis Cardinals fired manager Red Schoendienst.

The Atlanta Braves fired manager Lum Harris.
