The Rangers go against the Royals in spring training action.

Rich Hand pitched 4 innnings allowing 2 runs on 7 hits a walk and 2 strikeouts.

Don Durham pitched 2 innnings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits (1 home run) walked 1 and struck out 3.

Charlie Hudson pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits and a walk.

Roy Howell had a 3-run homer and scored twice. Bill Sudakis had 2 hits including a 2-run homer and scored twice. Lenny Randle was a single short of hitting for the cycle and scored 3 times. Steve Greenberg had 2 hits including a 2-run homer. Mike Epstein had 2 hits including a double. Bill Madlock had 2 hits. Elliott Maddox, Mike Hargrove and Jim Mason each had an RBI.

The Rangers had 17 hits as a team.

Final score: Texas 12 Kansas City 5.

The Rangers continue Spring Training with a game against the Chicago White Sox.

Dick Bosman pitched 4 innnings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits (2 home runs) walked 1 and struck out 4.

Mike Paul pitched 1.1 innning allowing 4 runs on 4 hits (1 home run) and struck out 2.

Steve Foucault pitched 0.2 innning allowing 2 runs on 2 hits (1 home run) walking 2 and striking out 2.

Don Durham pitched 2.2 innnings, allowing 1 run on 1 hit and 5 walks while striking out 3.

Jim Merritt allowed 1 hit in 0.1 innning.

Tom Grieve had 2 hits including a 2-run homer. Lenny Randle had 2 hits and an RBI. Ken Suarez scored twice. To Robson and Mike Cubbage each had an RBI.

Final score: Chicago 10 Texas 5.

The Texas Rangers next Spring Training game was against the Minnesota Twins.

David Clyde pitched 4 scoreless innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 2.

Rick Henninger pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits and a walk and striking out 2.

Mike Paul pitched 1.1 innning allowing 1 run on 1 hit 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Final score: Minnesota 1 Texas 0.

Today's Spring Training game was between the Rangers and Cleveland Indians.

Pete Broberg pitched 4 innnings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits a walk and 3 strikeouts.

Jim Merritt pitched 4.1 innnings allowing 1 run on 4 hits (1 home run) a walk and 5 strikeouts.

Steve Foucault pitched 1.2 perfect innnings striking out 3.

Bill Sudakis hit a 2-run homer. Mike Epstein had 2 hits including a double. Mike Hargrove had 2 RBI including a walkoff sacrifice fly in the 10th.

Final score: Texas 4 Cleveland 3 10 innings
