Modded Original Fields

I dont know if anyone has already done this or if its common knowledge, but .webp files are able to be modified in photoshop.

As an example, I "recreated" the 2005 white sox field from the 2005 World Series.

Each ballpark has a folder under "models" in the ballpark folder, models is for the 3d part if im not mistaken.

So for The Rate specifically, its "ballparks">"models">"Guaranteed Rate">"textures" and the field.webp is the specific file.

I used Gimp 2.10 to modify it. (GIMP 2.10 and higher can only modify webp files)

Second example of modding original fields, this one is Petco Park Opening Day.

I noticed this last night, but editing it isn't super cut-and-dry. My method is editing each part on different layers in GIMP so im not pasting anything onto the original field layer, but you cannot export your final version with the multiple layers as field.webp, it will show up in-game as a solid black field with only whatever your top layer was showing. So for anyone else that might try it, once you have your final version (if its multiple layers), I suggest exporting it as a .png, then opening the .png and exporting THAT as field.webp, and that will work fine.

So really, the only problem I've found is when exporting a multi-layer image as .webp and getting that to show up. Exporting a single layer image to .webp is fine.

Did you filter a "SD" logo image to make it look like grass? If so, what GIMP filter effects are you using?

All I really did for that was resized the SD into that area of the grass I wanted it to cover, selected it, and deleted that area from the layer I used to shade the grass. So basically, its the logo cut out in the black semi-transparent layer I used to make the grass pattern.
