Issues with player contract demands in historical league

I'm running into problems with my historical league. For some reason when I look at the free agents (in 1982 currently) some of them, including some of the best of them, show a $0 contract demand. So instead of getting a big paycheck, they sign minor league deals.

Is there some reason they would demand $0, maybe related to the type of free agent they are? I haven't been able to correlate this but someone may know of something.

Would be glad of any help here.

What time frame in the offseason are you in? What does it say when you click in to negotiate?

I'm right at the start of free agency. And yes I know that the players can change their demands but these guys aren't, I've seen quite a few stars sign minor league contracts. If I try to offer them a contract they want a minor league with major league option (with option salary well below their market rate.)

I'd double-check your player salary settings values, to make sure that there's some space between each tier.

Are you just running a standard historical league, or any other tweaks to it?

Matt, I checked the player salaries and they seem normal. Pretty much the standard historical league, I may have made a change or two related to expansion teams but nothing on the financial side.

I offered contracts to several of the players in the current free agent class with $0 demands and all wanted a minor league contract with major league option, and even their option price was at average player or lower levels, even for star players.
