National League is now on display.

Cincinnati Reds: Won World Series in 1873 and 1875 as The Baltimore Canaries and New Haven Elm Citys.



Louisville Grays: Great Ross Barnes is the top hitter.



Chicago White Stockings: Al Spalding is their top pitcher.



New York Mutuals: Lost to the Athletics in the 1874 World Series.



Philadelphia Centennials: Went 0-50 as expansion team Washington Nationals in 1872.



Philadelphia Whites: Won the World Series in 1871 and 1872 as the Troy Haymakers



St Louis Red Stockings: 1875 expansion team.

July 10th 1877 Update

Hartford continues to sizzle and increases their lead over the Athletics. Meanwhile over in the National League, the contest is tight. Orator Shaffer ended his 36 game hitting streak.
Ross Barnes (Louisville), Cap Anson (Hartford), and Jim O'Rourke (Washington) all are hitting over .400.

August 25th Update

The Mutuals caught up to the White Stockings and surpassed them. New York is 19-9 since the mid point in the season. Over in the AL Hartford continues to plow through the
competition. Their lead has shrunk to 4 games. Washington continues to have an improved season.

October 1877 Update

We are in the final month of the season. Hartford has floundered slightly. Their lead has shrunk to 6.5 games . Washington has made a play, reeling off 11 straight wins before we lost 4 in a row.

Final 1877 Standings

The Hartford Dark Blue held on and won the American League. Washington fizzled out towards the end going 7-6 in September and 8-8 in October. We even lead the AL in BA.
Over in the National League, New York Mutuals made it close but pull it our in the end.

The upcoming 1878 Season will see teams again relocate.

Hartford will move to Milwaukee and be called the Grays.
St Louis Red Stockings will move to Providence, the Grays also.

June 5th 1878 Update

Our Washington Nationals have floundered in this first part of the 1878 Season. Milwaukee picked up where Hartford left off last season.
The Chicago White Stockings jumped out to a 13-1 record and have cooled off slightly.

July 10th 1878 Update

We are almost to the half way point in the season. Surprise in the season. Keokuk is in first as they streak past Hartford. The White Stocking are holding their ground. meanwhile
Washington is not firing at all on any cylinders. 6th in batting average and only a lone home run to show. Top players for the Nationals are Jim O'Rourke and Tom Barlow at .313 and .307.

August 23rd 1878 Update

The Keokuk stumbled, 14-18 in July and August, while The Athletics have risen to the challenge. Over in the National League, the Chicago White Stockings hold a slim lead over three other teams.
Washington is out for the count until next season. We hope to draft a few potential good players in the up coming draft.
