Now that is some dominant pitching.

Whoa! Four wins that were all shutouts? Has that ever happened in a postseason series before? It's conceivable it happened sometime in the deadball era when they occasionally played those goofy best of nine series'.

It's rare for sure - 1905 was the only real life instance I found.

A series that went 5 games between the Athletics and Giants where every game was a shutout.

That was the deadball era right? It pretty much had to be either that or in the sixties before the mound was lowered methinks.

Can we get a look at Jose Avila's ratings?

Yes, definitely deadball era.

As for the league I'm running in OOTP - I'm using mid 60's settings.

I never play with any ratings on, so I set them to 20-80 for this screenshot. Not sure if that's the norm

He's got outstanding movement & control, slightly below avg stuff. No dominant pitch but seems to mix all 4 in quite well. It may just have been a career year for him, but I suspect at 30 yrs of age, he's got a few good seasons left in him.

If I look at the stats in the OP, the entire ML was averaging around 3.6 runs per game, which makes it among the five lowest scoring seasons in baseball history. Since the post season is already typically lower scoring than the regular season (partly due to weather), it makes sense the WS scoring is low. Of course, that doesn't create shutouts, as much as make them more likely. Not really much different from the 1966 WS when LA barely missed losing all four games by shutout.

Sixtes... ahh. Great era despite the low scores.
