to what year are you referring? I do not see this issue in the database

the totals on the various pages are created by the game and bugs in them can be reported one level up from here. I doubt it would be noticed here

OOTP19 issue, don't know if this has been fixed since.

Clem Kimerer is listed by BRef as being born on June 23, 1871, but in game it's November 29th, 1877.

Looks like some weird transposition of his date of death: November 29, 1947. His place of birth is also listed as his real place of death.

Not sure if this has been addressed...

Willie Aikens should be a Left Handed Hitter and a Righty Thrower... he is reversed in out XFBL league....

In OOTP 19, I played an historic replay of the Boston Red Sox 1967 season. In real life, in August of that year, a key Red Sox player, Tony Conigliaro was hit in the head by a pitch and out for the rest of the season. In my OOTP replay, he also was lost at that point for the Red Sox and disappeared off their roster. So far, excellent. But I then immediately checked to see whether his stats for the replay were still available as he was leading the replay in home runs at the time of his injury. When I did that, I discovered that he had been picked up by the Orioles and was now going to be playing for them. Obviously, that changes the historical simulation quite a bit and I'm wondering (a) whether in an historic replay, that same situation would occur for other players who are injured and out for the season, and (b) whether this type of quirk has been corrected in OOTP XX?

Historical injuries were not included in the transactions file in OOTP19. So, TC should've remained on the Red Sox roster (though not in the starting lineup, assuming real lineups were enabled) the entire season. In fact, no injuries should've occurred if you enabled real lineups and transactions, because injuries are automatically disabled.

You can Youtube the 1971 World Series and see, how at age 37, Clemente's arm was like a cannon.
No matter what season I start a new game 1955-1970, His over defense is lower than other players, and his arm is never rated an 80.
His baserunning speed is inaccurate as Clemente had track like speed.

Willie Mays running speed is also confusing. He also had track like speed. There are other older player's I have questions on. I figured I would start here.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Thank you.
I honestly don't get how Speed and baserunning are calculated.
It is crazy that Clemente Speed in 1966 is 21, and baserunning a 39
He was not a big base stealer but he was NOT a truck....

Joe Morgan rookie year speed is 56, lower that 12 years later...i guess he learned to run faster

I and likely everyone can go on...

There has to be some qualitative subjective analysis applied rather than random numbers generated

speed ratings like these are cowculated by the game. the database only contains data. the game makes ratings its ownself in its own way.

Please update the DB to have real batter strikeouts for the AL from 1901-1912, the NL from 1897-1909, and the AA from 1887-1888.

It appears that the AA strikeout data from 1889 and 1891 is in the DB. No AA batter strikeout data exists for 1881-1896, and 1890.

The rest of this batter strikeout data is on BBR and should be added to the DB when possible:

AA: 1887-1888
AL: 1901-1912
NL: 1897-1909

Thank You

The current data in the OOTP DB is estimated data for those seasons and it is very inaccurate for many players.

Carmen Fanzone

Looks like we have another birth date discrepancy. Carmen Fanzone (fanzoca01) was born 1941-10-30 per Baseball Reference, but upon importing his 1972 season his age shows as 28 rather than 30 as it should.

1,615 players who batted one way in the minors and then became switch hitters have been adjusted.

basically we moved the wrong to the minor leagues since ootp does not update them

I'm playing a 1920 season replay. It's a fascinating season for a number of historical reasons.

The season begins on 14/08/1920. On 23/08/1920 I see that Babe Ruth is listed in the Team Injuries section, out for 255 days. No notice shows up in the Mail & News section. I only a notice this in Tasks section telling me my rosters and batting orders need attention.

Seeing that Ruth is allegedly out for the remainder of the regular season, I put backup Duffy Lewis in Ruth's role as well as shifting players around in the batting orders.

This morning, prior to the game of 23/08/1920 being played, I see that Ruth is gone from the Team Injuries section. I play the game without him, then make the necessary changes following the game where Ruth is sitting in the Reserve Roster list.

an injury off 255 days has to do with using real transactions as I recall not actually an injuriry

Largest birth date discrepancy yet: Vic Davalillo (davalvi01) is listed on Baseball Reference with a DoB of 1939-07-30, but when I import his 1965 season his age is listed as 28 rather than 25.

EDIT: Hmmm...might not be a discrepancy after all. His SABR bio claims a DoB of 1936-7-31 (reflected in the game). Perhaps I should submit a correction to B-R?

I have submitted several thousand corrections to bbref over the years. so far zero have been updated. I think they just don't care.

That's a fair point. I can't say I've submitted that many (a couple dozen, maybe), but the only one that got real attention was nickname-related, and I get the impression that they're willing to throw any submitted nickname up on a player page now.
