Looking for some design ideas for a future league's HTML

First I"m looking for a design for the site that would mirror a newspaper design, similiar to how such information on baseball matches would be published for that time period (aka for games in the 1910's, it'd be designed like how papers set their sports section at that time).

Any help would be of course greatly appriciated

Probably could be worked out with tables and a ".css" file. Borderless and collapsed borders for all tables and cells. Use the ".css" file to orient text - one class of "td" tag left-justified for names, another for right-justification of data.

Problems will be spacing and font. I've never been able to get the "whitespace" option to work with css so I've had to use "nbsp" (please include ampersand at the beginning, semicolon at the end) to provide non-breaking spaces where consecutive spaces are required, inflating the size of the file. This would be lessened by the use of tables, but may be a problem. Also, the only serifed non-scalable font family I know of is Courier. Serifed files are necessary for that period, non-scalable is necessary for columnar orientation of stats. I haven't gotten the monospace option to work in css, either.

In any event, expect rather large files as a result of table usage. Good luck.
