Rule 5 Draft Question

I am having the darndest time figuring out how to send a drafted player back to the team I drafted him from. There has to be something I'm overlooking.

Have you tried waiving the player or trying to assign him to your minor leagues?

You release the player and the game put him back on his old team. It should be an automated process.

not sure if in the game, but in RL the previous team can opt not to take them back too.

demoting to minors or releasing should work, as that would trigger the rule.

I think only releasing sends the player back. Waiving gives other teams the chance to take on the obligation of carrying them on the 25 man roster, and trying to send them to the minors is blocked.
