Sidelined by video games?

I found this article to be amusing on several levels:
  • If Price were to have acquired carpal tunnel syndrome from playing a video game, why would that game not be OOTPB?
  • Look for the sales of Fortnite to jump now. Nice publicity.
  • "To me, this is good news," Cora said. This quote appears right after mentioning that Price had been scratched from a start and is uncertain about his next turn. What? Good news? Then I realized he meant that CTS is not as serious as, say, TJS.
  • Why is this a newsworthy item in that the link to video game playing is based solely on a reporter's speculation?
  • Why did I take the time and effort to post this here?

No clue what Fortnite even is (and too lazy to check it out), but everybody knows that this doesn't happen with OOTP, which keeps your hands moving as you clench your fists in anger and show your team the finger from time to time.

You know who never missed a start or a relief appearance due to a video game injury? Dennis Eckersly

Heh, it'd be a drop in the ocean. Fortnite is already the most played multiplayer game of all-time by multiple metrics and it's just getting bigger and bigger by the day. I play it (have since season 2) and I hadn't played a multiplayer game in well over a decade. I've never felt any numbness or pain from playing it though and some days I'll play a few hours. I wonder just how much he plays.

When I first saw this story I wondered if someone would make an OOTP storyline out of it.
Support the one-and-done DH or the SP-only DH
(I think they're both better than both the AL and NL games)
and more flexible substitution rules.

Fortnite (or at least the multiplayer) is free to play. It pretty much perfected the battle royale style of multiplayer that was set up by games like H1Z1 and PUBG (and in my experience when I played these games as a youngin, Minecraft hunger games servers). It's created some millionaires on Twitch, and has been played by a lot of sports players, most notably NBA guys. Basically it actually changed up the shooter dynamic for the first time in like 10 years. I don't play it as shooters aren't fun for me, but it is pretty entertaining to watch people play, at least compared to most shooters.

A similar thing happened to Carlos Zambrano back in 2005 or so.

I'm also the commissioner of the OTBA. Drop me a line if you'd like to join!
