hit and run and steal count

i noticed that quite everytime i asked the player to perform an hit and run or wnated the runner to steal, the count at which the action take place is just 0-0. i have been taught that the best count to hit and run is 2-0 or 2-1 or even 1-0. instead seems that the the player always go afetr the first picth to hit the ball into play, without even trying to work the count. What do you think about it?

IRL you make a good point. The concept of the hit and run is to swing at any pitch to protect the runner. But OOTP does not work on a pitch-by-pitch basis, so it can only invoke the hit and run from the first pitch on. I think the only good way to change this would be for the game to go to a pitch-by-pitch mode, which has been argued back and forth in this forum many times over.
