A change for depth charts

Instead of having it work on "Every Xth Game," make it work based upon days played since a day off - or since a day off in the schedule might be enough in 99% of cases if simpler makes sense.

i think it's more intuitive and greater control over expected results for those of us that don't manage each game.

specifically for catchers - we could be very efficient at controlling their fatigue from this perspective on games played.

Also, i think it's a must to unify how L/R works and days off on the Lineups screen... a day off should have nothing to do with how many Righties they have faced, but rather how many games they have played in a row. the depthchart split shouldn't affect Time. they will still start vs L or vs R as intended, but the time when they have a day off being tied to this is absurd at best.

also a C and DH or C and 1B or C and ??? capability of rotating them around would be extremely useful or simply adhering to the depth chart that is already there seems reasonable too :P

("if starter tired" option is still great, of course.)

For the Bullpen, compartmentalize the roles and have each with a depth chart. not necessarily handled the same way or even differently than they are now...it would eliminate "secondary roles" and any confusion on who the AI should use in order for each situation.

this would also give greater control over automation.

E.g. when you want to use the secondary role guy for higher leverage situations but still use the guy with that primary role all other times.

the depth chart will be simple and easy to understand who goes where and when. even specify what "high leverage" for each role - or re-labeling that if i am using it differently.

Long Relief Section"
LR1 - Average Joe
LR2- another joe / high leverage or within X # of runs depending on inning
(also a good MR and on that depth chart)

i want the "another joe" to also be designated to use in tigher situations - either current high leverage or based on run differential that is specified (depending on inning in the game isn't necessary). since he is also a "more" important piece of my MR depth chart and don't want to burn him on a lost cause.

this would help in other situations too - anytime a "lesser" rated palyer from the game's perspective is not the choice of the human GM and they have the same roles.

in the case of setup i think it even helps when innings when they can be used are different. currently i put my best su guy 7th and later, not 8th, but only because of how the AI uses the bullpen.

with individual depth charts for each role the ai can have an Array of names that are not fatigued and know exactly who the pecking order should be (the human's choice, then default to normal logic in extreme cases).

maybe a "use within X runs" designation. this type of thing would be a soft rule, of course... fatigue and X-day future schedule playing a large role of ignoring those types of designations - i assuem this sort of thing is already there based onhow the current game handles the bullpen and it seems to work reasonably well most of the time.
