Agents & Slotting for Draft
For OOTP 10 there should be agents included such as scott Boras who represent both top draft picks, and players. So if Boras reps a highly touted draftee, they may want a certain signing bonus that teams would pass on like they do in real life, making the player with alot of talent be passed on by teams.
Also giving a computer generated number that shows where the player should be drafted and how much should be spent, slotting should be added. Many times in the draft players ignore the leagues suggestion and overpays prospects in the draft and it is frowned upon. But some teams like the Mets obey the rules and pass on draft picks bc it is not in their slot...if that makes sense. Player Agents would make the game much better for sure. Hope they already thought of adding this |

Might be too complicated to implement, but I like it. I believe v6.5 had the feature of giving bonuses to draft picks which would cause you to think of drafting someone else if it was too high.

Looking at OOTP i don't think anything is too hard to implement. Im already astonished at how well the engine runs already. They have stuff in this game that is LIGHT YEARS ahead of any game on the market period.
Back to my point though. Please add Player Agents! I think it would add so much personality to the game. Everything from hold outs, to Agents having personalities that advise their players to sign late in free agency, to an agent emailing you saying "We have two other clubs that are willing to give my client 3 years, if you guarentee a fourth year he will sign with you" or "We have an offer from another club, we know you are interested in my client and he likes your team. He asked me to come to you to see if you would beat the final offer before we accepted it" Maybe players who dont use agents are easier to sign etc etc. If anyone has some good ideas to how PLAYER AGENTS might impact future versions of OOTP please post some ideas. Id be interested in hearing what you have to think. Thanks! |

i'd love to see player agents in this game as well, unfortuantly i doubt they added it or else it most likely of been included in the new feature list. These are the types of features that would make me buy this game every year, not ai tweaking. Oh well - I know others think differently which is why ootp is focusing more on the pure baseball stuff instead of things like this. Perhaps on year it will be added, but it doesn't look like it will be this year.

Agents, I would say, are unnecessary. But signing bonuses for amateur players (and for pros as well) is very much a needed addition. Signing bonuses have played a rather large and important role in shaping the acquisition of amateur players over MLB's history.
