National team competitions
Hello, I'll send an old suggestion which hasn't been answered since I suggested for first time:
Due to the Word Baseball Classic's coming, it's a good idea incorporating a "national team" feature, separated of the standard game setup (named for this purpose "club game setup") for being named "national team setup", with national teams from every nation with a baseball level from "poor" to "excellent", using every player of the universe. In that game setup, the user can create world and/or continental tournaments (senior and youth) and could also setup the limits as time limit for national-team switching (1, 2, 3 years or absolute), for example. That national teams will have his own personnel staff (GM/manager -which duty is selecting the national team players, based in the scouting from his "organization"-, pitching/hitting coaches, scoting director, team trainer, etc.), home ballpark(s), city for his headquarters, etc. More ideas here. It would be cool, but I'd prefer other things to work properly first. Namely winter leagues, high school leagues feeding college as well as the pros, etc.

I think this would be awesome since I've set my fictional league to have 70% foreign players and messed with the nations file to create more prospects from non traditional places. I think it just adds flavor to the names. I have a SP in my minors from Papua New Guinea.
I'm almost tempted to just look through the files and compile national all-star teams and figure out some kind of way to do this. |

of course
yea, why not?
at least the WBC... I would say why not the olympics, but there's no baseball in the olympics anymore... ![]() but international competitions for minor leaguers such as the world cup would be fun... and would be another different kind of game experience managing a national squad... This would be similar to how the real life major league clubs contribute eligible players to the Arizona Fall League teams... So international competitions could also come into play as new depth for minor leagues, in addition, of course, to the World Baseball Classic element. |

Works fine for me personally, I never have to shuffle players around at all myself.

As long as you can make it like the WBC really is, with the pitch count rules and the loose rules it uses to determine national eligability.
