Watching Replays - Very Disappointing

When I was looking over the screenshots for OOTP10 I saw this:

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/joom...ry_ootp/s5.jpg

..and was hoping that was what the screen would look like when watching replays. But it seems you only get all that info when playing out games. It doesn't look like the replay watching has been touched at all.

There's a lot of unused space and it's just really boring to watch the replays, which I think is a great way to follow your team if you're not playing out every game.

Instead you get this boring screen:

OOTP Baseball Manual - Watching Replays

The blank spot on the bottom left should be used to show stats of the pitcher/batter at least.

Yeah, replays would be a perfect use for implementation of 2D graphics to represent everything. Kinda like watching a real game.

I'm not asking for anything flashy, but I don't see why it couldn't mimic the same screen for when you play out games. You know, show some stats perhaps. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to see the batter's stats, or even to expect some kind of advancement to the feature over the course of the year.

Way to not even read my post before you comment.

When you're playing out a game the stats you see are current stats. When you're watching a replay, the game already happened so the current stats aren't displayed because they're no longer current, they're past.
Hope, I'm explaining that somewhat clearly. And I'm not saying that's the way it should be or not, but as I understand it that's how it works.

yeah it makes sense but I hope for future versions they can figure it out. I watch the replays for my sim league and I'd love to know the stats of the guys that are up.

Nice. I was trying to enhance your point. I read your comment. I guess you didn't want that.

I assume the reason that current stats are not shown during a replay is that the game doesn't know what yesterday's player stats are because the game has already happened. The game replay file would have to store what the player and team stats were before the game started then add them as they go along. But that would be prohibitive because the file size would be enormous.

I would argue that if 2D graphics were implemented I would want them (as an option of course) when I am actually playing out my games. Remember, a large number of us are not simmers.

Sorry your post sounded really sarcastic to me. If not stats, then at least use that blank space to show player ratings or the speed ratings of players on base or something.

Fair enough. A lot of context is lost in the electrons of forums. I wasn't trying to be being sarcastic. Though I can see how it could be read as irrelevant and sarcastic.

I totally agree there is a lot of space and not a lot of content. It could be better.
