AI handling of the trade deadline
This area is something I'd love to see enhanced in future versions.
This is one of the very few reasons why I have trouble playing OOTP in a solo league, which I'd love to really do. I just feel this and a few other things regarding the difficulty (or ease) of the AI make the game a bit too easy or not true to life. It is just a game so I know it's tough to be critical to the point of perfection when trying to mirror true life, but it seems that changing the way an AI GM handles vets during the deadline wouldn't be too difficult.

I would like to see the AI actively seek trading partners for top players it wants/needs to dump, both at trading deadline time but also other times (such as to combat a cash shortage).
The game can put the player on the trading block - though it doesn't often do so in my experience - but that only engages other teams on a one-on-one basis. To make the game more fun, when a top player goes on the market, teams should, in essence, declare themselves in the race. For fans of FM, it should work a lot like late transfer window shuffling works in that game, though obviously it doesn't use any of the same terminology. |
