Rain delays...who knew?
My apologies if this is already a logged issue. I've noticed that sometimes when playing out a game, you will have experienced a rain delay without any kind of notification. Not like when a rain delay happens in the middle of an inning and you get the PBP text scroll telling you, "It's still raining...it's still raining...it's still raining...the rain delay lasted 54 minutes, etc." Rather, this seems to take place in between innings, and the PBP does not tell you it happened. So, unless you're checking the box score every half inning, you end up running your pitcher out there only to learn too late that he's suddenly tired or exhausted because of the delay. And by the time you get another pitched warmed up, you run the severe risk of either injuring your current pitcher or giving up a butt load of runs until a reliever is ready.
I feel this is desperately calling for some kind of fix where the PBP informs you any time a rain delay takes place so you know to be ready in advance for when your pitcher is ready to be taken out. Just a cool side note, in the game I was playing where this happened prompting me to post this thread, the opposing pitcher had a perfect game going through innings when the rains hit. They brought him back to start the next inning after a 51-minute delay, and he promptly gives up a home run to the first batter he faces, then gets yanked. ![]() EDIT: Opposing pitcher actually had a perfect game through six innings!
