Managerial History

I love the team history pages on OOTP. Fuill batter/pitcher registry, every draft pick, positional starters for every season.

But where is the managerial history for each club? I think this should definitely be included on that page.

Along with that It'd be nice to see more complete histories for coaches. Like my manager now I'd like to see that from 01-05 he was a bench coach in AAA and then 06-08 he was a bench coach for the Rays, stuff along those lines.

I agree, it would be a good idea to have a more extensive history for managers, but what specifically would you want?

Who they spent time with and their record?

That'd be cool and all, but I honestly can't think of anything else that would be important to know aside from what we already do.

Is there more or am I just missing the point?

The way I play this game, a managers history is just as important to me as any player. In my fictional league where the New York War Dogs are the premier team I want a page that lists the teams managers year by year with their records. If I click on a specific year I want to see who the manager and individual coaches were. I also want to trace a manager and coaches career, year by year. Was he a bench coach during a teams championship run before he got his first managers job? Or did he come up the ranks of the minor leagues? Did a team have one manager for ten years or more or did a team change managers the Steinbrenner way.

I'd take it one step further. Have the real managers and their tendencies in the game. And track the records, as mentioned.

I never understood why it wasn't tracked for just the managers...you'd think it would be tracked for the GMs as well. It also like it tracked for AC, Scouts, GMs etc.

Also it would be nice to say in their history pages what round they were beat out of...not just "Won Championship" . Example - "Lost in Quarters" or "Lost in Finals" etc

I really want this in the next ootp...

To be honest, i'm surprised it's been this long and still hasn't been done...i hope this new version will finally be the year...

I would like to see this for the pitching/hitting coaches as well..because why would i want to have a pitching coach who has coached a team with a high era or a hitting coach with a low ba, etc

That would imply that the hitting/pitching coach was responsible for the low ba/high era though. If a great coach gets stuck working for a terrible team, is it his fault the team stinks? It would be an interesting piece of information potentially though.

What if staff reputations were eliminated all together, and you would have to go on record, and how well teams actually perform in different areas from pitching, to hitting etc.. even scouts should be judged basically on how good a team's farm system and young players look...sleepers and the such.
