Fully implemented Spring Training please!
The one thing I would love to see in OOTP 12 is the option for a real Spring Training with a designated facility, full organizational participation (all of the minor league rosters, not just the 40 man roster) and something along the lines of cactus and grapefruit league schedule (only playing other organizations in the same Spring Training league). It would be nice to be able the throw some minor league players into a game with the big leaguers and not use up an option year. This is a big request I know but if it can be done I think it will greately enhance the game experience.
I also have a second smaller request, the option to game plan with pitchers. Some hitters have difficulty hitting certain pitches, it would add a new strategic element to have the pitchers throw more of that kind of pitch to them if they have that pitch. Also, I would make the hitters weaknesses (if any) something the team scouts could discover if the proper attention is paid to scouting the major or minor leagues. I do not know if this can be done either but it would be nice and enhance gameplay by adding a new strategic element. |

I'd say that the second suggestion is actually less likely to be added, due to the way the game engine works, but I definitely like the Spring Training idea.

(In fact, if you peruse the transactions made during spring training, you'll find many instances of players being optioned to the minors during spring training, since the MLB club knows the player isn't yet good enough to make the opening day roster.)

Non-roster invites please. I'm sure this has been requested year after year.
Even if it is a designated amount of invites (say 10). I think it would definitely be a nice addition to the game. Think of the veteran players signed to minor league contracts given the opportunity to fight for a job. It happens in real life and would be nice if we had the opportunity in the game. |
