Stadium/city contracts
I think that this would be a great idea for realism. Like in real life, if a city builds a new stadium for a team they have to stay in that city as long as they have that agreement. At the end of the contract, the team could be put up for sale, or if the team has been winning for a while (with high fan interest) keeping the team and building a new stadium would be more likely. So this would require teams to stay in town, and teams like oakland could have rumors about who will buy the team, and a new group could move the team to another city without a team.

I like this idea. And while I do really like the newer expansion and relocation features, I think they tend to happen too abruptly. I would like to see a prolonged series of storylines that lead up to or caution about a possible relocation. Perhaps, then, if you were the GM of Oakland in OOTP, such storylines might impact the types of moves that you make either to keep the team in Oakland or accelerate the move elsewhere. Maybe acquiring a star player to a six year deal could influence the city to build a stadium and keep the team.

i always see great ideas like this but yet they are never implemented. It seems all that is done these days are somewhat improving (or changeing) the interface and making the game engine better. All the more "non baseball" things get ignored.
Until more features like this get added i don't think i'll pay full price for this game. And i know many people will disagree with me and some may even be offended by what i said but that's how i feel and i know others like me are out there. We are the sport sims fans; not necessarily die hard stat baseball fans.

Such interactive winter meetings would be much more immersive for the user, as well as letting them know exactly what changes were taking place as part of dynamically evolving leagues.

Great suggestion! Having an engaged experience during winter meetings sounds really neat. I like this and think it would help greatly in the following scenario: Perhaps you have an American League team and the idea of dropping the designated hitter is on the table. Over a series of a few years, you would be able to determine how close other teams are to accepting or rejecting this proposal. It would help you make better informed decisions about your roster rather than just being notified abruptly that the designated hitter is being scratched. If I understand you right, it seems like you are suggesting that we would be able to gauge the different evolving dynamics prior to them happening, which is what I imagine happens in real life.
