Suspension list

here's an issue i noticed. prince Fielder gets suspended for 8 games. i can't replace him on the roster like i could if he was injured so now the Brewers have to play short for those 8 games...

A player may be suspended for misconduct or serious rule or contract violations. A player on the suspended list frees up a spot on the active 25-man roster, but he still counts against the team for the 40-man roster.

An obscure rule to be sure, but one that needs to be addressedif the suspension rule in ootp is going to be realistic

It would be cool, as would other lists that are used, especially with the addition of storyline events for players missing games because of deaths in the family etc (IRL there is a bereavement list and a military service list, although I'm not sure how often the latter has been used recently)

As noted in the thread in the main forum, the above is actually incorrect. At the major league level, a player on the suspended list does count against both the 25-man active roster and the 40-man roster, meaning the player cannot be replaced.

I think that sort of thing could probably be handled under one catch-all list, an Inactive List. The players on that list are inactive, with the reasons for the specific inactivity listed. The reason for the inactivity would then govern whether the player can be replaced and the maximum amount of time the player is allowed to be inactive.
