Rationale:In order to get a fictional league up-and-running, it is widely suggested around this community to sim out 15, 20 or 30 years in order to build a history for your league before you start playing so you have league records to shoot for and such.
While this is perfectly fine and builds immersion into the game, it means that new users sometimes have to waste a day or two of simming (depending on computer speed) in order to gain that immersion factor. It also means that the saved game file size is quite large by the time they actually get to playing and they thus have a much slower game on their hands with those 30 years of league history sitting in there to slow things down.
Suggested Feature:With the auto-calc league modifiers feature working so well in OOTP 12, I believe a similar feature could be used to accomplish an auto-calc of league history.
If I understand auto-calc as it is, it does a quick simming of a few years behind the scenes based on the ideal league totals to determine what the accurate modifiers should be.
If that's correct then during league creation a new feature could be where an owner would run auto-calc league modifiers to his liking and then click "auto-calc league history" and set the number of years for the history (could choose to set 30 years for instance). Then there would be some similar simming done behind the scenes to generate league and team record books based on those modifiers. Then, perhaps they could get a preview of the league records before creating the league so they can be sure they are satisfied.
I think this would give players the immersion factor that they desire while also giving them less prep work for a new league, smaller file sizes and thus a slicker game experience.
