Position players as relief pitchers?

Since the last blowout game the Cardinals had recently, that has had me thinking. In that game, Cards skipper Tony La Russa used 2B/Of'er Skip Schumaker as a relief pitcher. And this is where my thinking began. I know that you can force a player to play at a certain position but I think there's a need to tweak this area of the game. How about adding a feature that would allow you as GM to designate certain players on your team to be used as relief pitchers in blowout games and/or extra inning games that go beyond say the 15th inning if you sim through games (like I do)? When I check the box score after each game, if it happens to be a blowout or one of those extra long games, I would like to be able to see that my manager is conservatively saving the bullpen and using one of these designated players to finish pitching in that game.

Completely disagree with this. There have been quite a few notable players over the years who have gotten injured while throwing relief, Jose Canseco being the best at the time. Position players can come into the game as a pitcher at any point in the game, why bother designating them as a emergency MR. It only happens once or twice a season.
