Ideas for team management...
The more I play OOTP 12 the more I love it. It's truly become one of those games that is worth it's value and then some. Since I enjoy playing OOTP so much, I keep coming up with ideas and thoughts. I've made two threads already, so I guess I'm about to add a third.
![]() To me, one of the big sticking points of the game is the difficulty in managing my team. I appreciate the spreadsheet view, where I can see my roster and sort however I want. But I'm also a graphical-type person and I benefit from being able to visualize what I want to do. Let me give a case in point. I like taking care of the minor leagues myself as far as keeping the teams stocked with players. I like leaving the issues of rotations and lineups and starters - by and large - to my managers (as a good GM should). However, with the way the views are set up now, it is very hard for me to easily identify whether or not my teams have everything that they need. Do they have enough starting pitchers? How about first basemen? Right fielders? I'd love to see a view where I can easily cycle through my minor-league teams or affiliates and "see" the team breakdown. The best visualization for me would be similar to a depth chart that's displayed on a baseball diamond. Each position is shown and the players at that position are listed. This is just one concept I have, but I am sure there are some other views that everyone would benefit from.

What about a message from the minor league team when they are short players. Something along the line of "hey, not sure if you noticed but i need an outfielder."

If I want to see my AAA affiliate's roster and starting lineup/rotation, even if it is just for the sake of determining whether or not they have all the necessary spots filled, I have to either go to the tab in question and change the affiliated team or go to Transactions and then mentally tally what I see. If I'm doing major work on my minor leagues, it gets complicated to try and sort out what goes where, who's available, who's done what, etc. I'd just like to see some additional views that make it easier for me to keep the minors up to speed. Another thing... maybe this is something I need to do settings-wise... but I'd like to see status reports from my minor league teams when there are injuries and such. Or even mails from the minor league managers when they feel a player should be promoted or demoted.

Have you ever clicked on the "Transactions" Tab from your team home page?
All your minors are there and very easy to scroll through and see how many players you have at each position. They are even sorted by position for you. Also, if you're doing major work on a minor league team, you should probably be on that teams home page anyway so you can quickly access line-ups, depth charts, rotation, etc.
