Pitching suggestions
1) Having the option to choose which pitch your pitcher throws. I'm kinda surprised that this was never added in, but I think that it would make the pitching mode much more exciting since you could control the game yourself.
2) Having different arm angle types for pitchers. Batters have the pull hitter, normal, and a spray hitter, but every pitcher is the same unknown throwing type. Pitcher could have Submarine, Sidearm, three quarters, and over the top, and movement and control could change based on what type of thrower they are. 3) Adding a Deception rating, and a section for stamina in the scouting report screen. Deception is a very important thing for pitchers to have, and this would give pitchers another rating that is used in scouting prospects. This could make pitchers with average to poor pitch speed much better, and great pitchers hide their stuff well. 4) Presence rating. This would be a rating built towards closers and to a lesser degree starters. Randy Johnson comes to mind with this because he was already very tall and had that intense stare down at the hitter if you saw him on TV. And there is always the famous John Kruk at bat where he was so scared after those wild pitches that he ended that at bat as fast as possible. This rating could also effect rookies with low intelligence or regular players with low morale. 5) Condense movement and stuff in the scouting report page. Most of the time for me, it seems that both of these rating descriptions are a bit redundant and pitchers with good stuff generally have pitches with great movement as well. It could be shortened down to something like: "throws 93-95 with offspeed pitches that bottom out. Or, only throws 86-88, but has a knuckleball that makes hitters look silly. Or like one currently in game, throws 98-100 but the pitches go dead straight." 6) Have an option like pitch count to be able to cap how many innings you want a pitcher to throw in a season. |

Pitch types, other than knuckleball, are purely cosmetic in the game. Until they actually have an effect, there's not much point in being able to tell your pitcher to throw a curve or a slider or fastball.
Pitch count option has been OOTP for quite some time. You set it under individual player strategy.
