Option to adjust how much previous year's stats factors into free agent contract demand

This bug/glitch basically makes playing against the AI meaningless because it's way too easy to sign players with good ratings who happened to have a poor previous season. I win the World Series within a few years every time because I sign players who are undervalued. I strongly suggest an option to make the free agent contract demand based more on ratings over the previous season's stats. What do y'all think?

There is no bug. The human player has control of AI evaluation criteria. If you don't like/agree with the settings you can change them however you want. I prefer AI evaluations based on stats, but you may prefer ratings.

As for beating the AI, you should be able to beat the AI as it is not IBM's Watson after all. In solo play you must inhibit your ability to know every detail about every player. Many OOTP players use stats only as a way to limit their knowledge. Others (me) limit their ability to rob the AI via trade by viewing the trade from the opposing GM's perspective.

Other tools one can use are:

Limit yourself financially.
Limit the number of FA you can sign.

Some people don't like house rules. I can understand that. The last two versions IMO are better than ever. AI run teams seem better able to maintain a good team. Previously AI teams could go from 100 wins to 65 due to poor roster management.

All this is just my opinion. YMMV

Does making ratings weigh more than the previous year's stats affect how much the player demands in negotiations? I don't think it will but I'll run a season to see...

That does make sense what you said about basing it on stats though...real GMs don't have access to players' actual skills beyond what scouts know...
