Stretching out a pitcher
For two seasons I've been running an experiment in Asahi2 with drafted pitcher Adam Wainwright. He imported with 4 above average pitches but only a 1 in stamina. I've slowly but surely been increasing his pitch count in the minors with LEGENDARY pitching coaches watching over him. Surely his ratings should be improving, and his stamina should be increasing as well. After 2 seasons he has seen very little growth and his stamina still stuck on 1, despite the fact of throwing as many as 90 pitches in a start. I've concluded, at least within this short period, two things:
1) Stamina doesn't improve 2) Coaches really have little impact on development (I've actually NEVER seen evidence in ANY version of OOTP where a good coach impacts development) I would like to see a direct correlation between coaching abilities and the development of players. I would also like to see pitchers improve in overall stamina if being stretched into a starter. Here is a link to my "experiment": Asahi2 League Forums • View topic - The Adam Wainwright Project

Its also too bad that a legendary coach has no effect on the situation. I didn't know that and am sorry to find it out. That may be changed at some point.

The quality of coaches has some effect, but it is not intended to be a very dramatic effect, I think. Between the variety of coaches and the random talent bumps or hits that occur through the development process, it's hard to say definitively what a single experiment like this proves.

How are Wainwright's work ethic and intelligence? I'm not sure how much of an effect these ratings would have on his improvement.

Pitchers should be able to be stretched into starters, my proposal to solve this problem is the "Pitcher Development" thread. I haven't seen any noticeable impact from coaches either.
