HOF confirmation
I have the HOF induction set to the default. I found two issues that bothered me a bit. A pitcher was inducted with a losing record because he had the 200 wins and ERA under 4.00, 211-222 record. Another player just barely met the requirements of 2000 hits and a .300 average. He had .301 average with 2009 hits but he had no power and his WAR was only 29.6 for his career. In real life neither of these guys are in.
Here is what I would like to see. When a player meets the automatic induction requirements a email should be sent out verifying that you want the guy inducted. I know you can take a player out of the HOF but I would like to see it that the player does not make it in to begin with. |

I'd also like to see some improvements to the HOF system. I'd like to see the voting results (even if they are cosmetic to an extent). I'd also like to see news stories indicating so and so went into the HOF. So far I haven't seen anything like this?

I've had similar ideas about this as well Sandman. Currently, we have minimum requirements for automatic induction to the Hall of Fame as well as how many years a player has to wait before entering the Hall of Fame.
It'd be nice to keep the criteria for the minimum requirements, but to change it to be the minimum requirements that MUST be met in order to be included on the HOF ballot (i.e. number of seasons played, WAR, innings pitched, ABs, hits, wins, whatever) and then to have a separate screen during the offseason that allows us to "vote" in the eligible players, much like we can manually enter in the end of season award winners and all-star players. Initially, it could be set up so that it's a simple yes or no vote from the commish of an online league or from the individual player in a solo league. It would be nice to eventually have the individual owners in an online league submit their ballots through their exports (if possible) and for solo leagues possibly having the AI generate an overall voting percentage based on how the game ranks that player all time with solo owner getting just a single vote.

Good call on adding a confirmation before inducting a guy. I too have had too many subpar pitchers get in based on win/ERA combo. I'd also like to see automatic HOF induction be based on something like the HOF Standards or HOF Monitor from BBRef, to the extent that OOTP could calculate it. That could also allow for vote percentages. Having simple cutoffs based on a few stats just doesn't cut it.
