Improvement HOF manual selection

I manually select HOF players. I think the following would help the process.

First, in the off season have an e-mail sent that indicates the recently retired players the press, fans, etc think are worthy. This might suggest players for the HOF who otherwise might be overlooked. The e-mail can prompt the game player to look at certain players. The e-mails can contain brief summaries of the relevant stats for these players.

Second, have an e-mail sent from a "veterans committee" suggesting players in the more distant past who the committee thinks should be considered for the HOF.

Third, use a better way of considering potential HOF candidates (both for manual and automatic selection) that better takes into account the stats generated during the period a potential HOF player played. For instance, use ratios like (player career BA/average league BA over players career) as identifying potential HOF players.

Fourth, give more explicit consideration to fielding in the HOF process.

I just want a list of the players that retired each year. I use the transactions list from the first day of the offseason, but some players, especially if they were sent to the minors retire in september and I miss them.

The HOF has always been one of the weakest areas of the game. It's been the way it is for a long time and it has always seemed like an afterthought.

I would love to see it work more like the real HOF (thought not too much*), where you can actually see what percentage of votes a guy got, and it would be ideal if this could all be done manually or have support for online leagues in which owners are the voters. Also ideally, you'd be able to set the cutoff percentage for induction (real life is 75%, but if you want a very exclusive HOF, you could bump it up to 80 or 85).

There would be some level of randomness to keep things interesting, but I would think that induction should be based more on something like the HOF Monitor or HOF Standards (or some combination thereof), and it should be adjustable in some way regarding which stats are most important.

And just as the awards allow manual selection now, HOF selection should work similarly, where you can do a yearly manual induction on a special screen that also lets you click a button to get the AI's suggestions.
