New Manager and Trainer Options

Would it be possible to fire a manager mid-season and find well qualified personnel in the mid-season? For example, I want to fire my current manager as his lineups don't maximize the talent. I would like the option to hire Ryne Sandberg, who is bench or 3rd base coach, with the Phillies club.

I know that OOTP did a great job with just how many generic managers there were in game available, but it would be nice to have more of the bench coaches, etc., availablle for mid-season hires.

Last thing, if you hire a trainer who is inexperience, is there a natural progression over a season that improves their ability to heal certain areas? If not, that would be great as well.
