:P Sorry, not often a Pirates fan can gloat in an Astros Fan's thread. The Pirates were lucky to pull off the win. There were a couple of real key double play ground balls and Oswalt not being able to get the bunt down with two on and no outs helped keep the Pirates close. Then, of course, Lidge blew it. I for one was glad to see Torres had some decent stuff tonight.

I expect Burke to be in the 2 spot soon. If Everett struggles alot early, I expect Loretta to get alot of playing time.

Today's line-up was a little different

1. Biggio-2B
2. Burke-CF
3. Berkman-1B
4. Lee-LF
5. Ensberg-3B
6. Lane-RF
7. Everett-SS
8. Ausmus-C

Lane hit a homer into the Crawford Boxes earlier, so substituting him for Scott today has turned out to be ok.

the Astros bullpen is gonna make me hurt myself or something...

Jennings pitched well only giving up 1 run. Oh well.

It was great to see Jennings pitch so well. Someone needs to tell the offense the season started. Also, I think the back end of the bullpen is going to be source of trouble. It's hard not to get a little frustrated even though its two games.

Yea. No one has pitched well yet(from the bullpen) outside of Rick White!

Someone needs to tell the manager that pencilling two automatic outs, Ausmus and Everett, and the living dead, Biggio, into the lineup every day is detrimental to scoring. Oh, and that winning thang. Well, at least they got rid of Taveras. One down, three to go.

Hopefully, we will see more of Quintero and Loretta at C and SS. They can both hit pretty well.

I don't believe you'll ever see 35 year old Mark Loretta play shortstop for the Astros, or any other MLB club for that matter.

He played some in ST. You never know. If the offense continues struggle, it could happen. But your probally right.

Bye, bye Lidge:

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...b/4698986.html

Personally I think they should trade him. I think he could be succesful elsewhere once he exorcizes his demons.

And having been to 3 of the first 6 games, I drop my over under on wins to about 73.

Trade him to the AL. Maybe if he's in a different league, he'll stop being haunted by what Pujols did to him two years ago. Heh.

Lidge needs to be moved but who replaces him?

Chris Sampson? Chad Qualls? Dan Wheeler?

They need to go out and get a closer befrore they deal Lidge.

Yeah, trade him to the AL where he can just be haunted by the spectre of giving up a walk-off homer to Scott Podsednik.

He could probably outrun you, unless you're Victor Martinez.

Speaking of Pods, how's Carlos Lee doing for you? I haven't really been paying much attention.
