Trust me it can't be any worse than a wet Saturday afternoon watching as an example Leigh play Redditch or someone, or the worst ever game I ever went watching was Wigan Athletic v Torpedo Moscow in a friendly were Torpedo for some strange reason played a 10-0-0 formation and came to play out a draw in a friendly, I froze my ass off that night, got so bored sat down on the concrete steps and nearly fell alseep and when I got up my butt was numb.

I've watched highlights of MLS games but you can never get a feeling for a game based on highlights, even watching a full game on TV doesn't give you the feeling of actually going to the game. imo there is nothing better than going to watch a football game (maybe biased) in England specially one where you can stand up which is lower league football now because of seater stadiums in the Prem.

The buzz as faded a bit watching Wigan in the prem, grounds not as good and such but the buzz I used to get going to Springfield Park watching them against teams like Bolton, Preston, Burnley, Bury etc was just unreal.

Guys
Please remember to watch the spoilers

Some of us have jobs for a living and record the early morning games to watch later in the day

Everton vs Tottenham I don't much care about
But I did record it

But if you do that for a Bayern Munich game I will kill you in the slowest most painful way I can conjure up

This thread is for talking about football of course

But please do be mindful for those of us 5-9 hours behind Europe time wise who watch the games at night or the next day

While I can understand where your coming from what do we talk about ? MLS highlights over here are shown nearly a week after they have been played, Dutch games are shown days after they've been played, South American games are shown days after they've been played so like I say I understand you but what do we talk about ?

UKHS..I think he is out of line here. If he doesnt want to know the scores, why would he read a real-time football thread? If he had to work during the Super Bowl and had to tape it, would he ask us not to discuss the game??

Half the fun of these threads is real time discussion about the game. Sorry if it inconveniences.

They have decent midfielders with moderate skills. But playing 3 up front as Jol did last night is idiocy unless you can get three across the middle who can fight and scrap to death. Jenas and Zokora are not these types. They're nice touch players.

Even though I don't consider £16m to be too high a price for Darren Bent - who I consider very highly - it does seem to have had a double negative effect on Spurs. Firstly, it's money that they could have spent on a top quality central midfielder, capable of dominating the middle. Secondly, because of it Jol may feel compelled to play the 3 up front to cater for his three (arguably) best players (Keane, Berbatov, Bent), and they don't have the midfield or defence to cope with that tactic.

In short, Spurs were probably the wrongest team to buy Bent.

Everton did really well to exploit the space in midfield, though. Carsley and Neville were efficient and hardworking. Arteta is a really nice player. I can see Everton doing quite well this year. They have a very solid defence, aided by the two defensive centre mids, some nice skill and class in attacking mid, and a decent striker in Andy Johnson. If they can add Yakubu or somebody like that in what remains of August, they could comfortably get Top 6 and - who knows - Top 4.

Chelsea is down 1-0 in the 43rd minute and Carvalho is out of the game injured. They could well be in bog trouble going into the Liverpool match sunday.

This is playing out for Chelsea just like another mid-week road match last year at Middlesborough where they were also upset.

1-1 as Lampard equalizes....Jose uses all three of his subs going into the 2nd half.

now 2-1 as Drogba scores in the 50th minute.

Still 2-1 Chelsea in the 60th minutes. Chelsea have squeezed the fun out of this one.
