Don't worry another paper had him going to Newcastle, I'd love him to go to Newcastle. He'd think he'd landed in the land of kissing cousins, one things for sure Newcastle isn't the place to go if he wants to top that tan up unless its on the tanning beds.

Been impressed with Everton of late, if they can keep Arteta. Winning at home easily and also getting points away at Portsmouth and Chelsea in their last two league games which is something that not many teams will do this season.

Watched a bit of the A League the other week and one thing that struck me which surprised me was the poor goalkeeping, may have caught them on a bad week but I'd have thought with them being brought up with both rugby codes they'd be better with their hands than they were.

The thing is, most Aussie kids who play football(soccer) don't have any interest in the rugby codes. I think the coaching would also be a factor, as well as identifying goalkeeping talent at an earlier age. I am sure there are more Mark Shwarzer's or Zelko Kalac's out there, but due to the age of the A-league and slow development of both scouting and talent identification programmes, they just arent getting seen.

I agree with you though, if the A-league is to be taken seriously by other high profile footballing nations, the standard of play and talent identification really needs to improve.

I also think that theres an issue within Australian football, as the past two Chief Executives of the FFA have come from Rugby Union(John O'neill) and the AFL(Ben Buckley). Needing to import executives from other sporting codes to run the show, says a lot about football in this country.

Would it be feasible for the FA to fine someone for diving after the game if it was missed by the referee?

UEFA have banned players so no reason why the FA couldn't ban or fine players.

I don't know if the FA can or will do something as it's a bit of a dark area, they say if the referee doesn't see it then they can't do anything but then if there is violent play during a game the referee hasn't seen then they can and have done something in the past aka Barrow v Forgot (lol) in the FA Cup a few seasons ago, can't remember the FA doing anything about diving but UEFA did ban a Lithuania player for diving against Scotland in the Euro Championship qualifiers.

The penalty was given because of Ferguson, he had a moan about ref's not giving penalties when Ronaldo is fouled and he's the king of mindgames and it worked.

Celebration did me, unwritten rule you don't celebrate too much when you've pretty much beaten your opposition to a pulp and the game is won specially when you know you cheated your way to the penalty, then he wonders why non United fans give him so much abuse.

They try to justify it here(sort of) but credit to the author for actually admitting it was a dive and saying it wasnt necessary.

Just think how much better he would be if he didn't dive.
