Only if it's ratified by FIFA and gets the final say-so from the English FA.

If it happens the way it is planned to, with this many games, then the Premiership owns the FA.

Although its strictly an EPL thing. I dont think FIFA, the FA or the BSPCA should have any say in it. In the long term ots good for the FA.

There will be calls by clubs to scrap the league cup, or at least allow the reserve teams they already use to be entered in a later round, and the FA Cup will also suffer as it's all about the league and the CL. **** the Premiership and long live non-league!

Dont make me send Joey Barton over to your place to discuss the finer points of the EPL with you.

I've always been of the impression that the EPL has had the English FA by it's balls since its inception.

The Premier League would only be allowed to take their games to America if Fifa permits them, according to the chief of the US Soccer Federation.

The comments follow the announcement that the English body is considering other countries hosting its games.

"We've been reluctant to have official games played in the US," US Soccer chief Sunil Gulati told BBC Sport.

"We'll be guided by Fifa on this matter. But if it's not in line with its rules then we won't sanction it."

Why isn't there as big a fuss about an Italian taking over the Rep. of Ireland job?

The main problem most have with it (and I can understand), is that under this plan, clubs would play one other club three times in league play. That's fine for whomever draws a Birmingham City three times, but what about those that draw Arsenal/United for a third time?

My fix would be to nix the 39th fixture and just play one of the existing 38 fixtures on foreign soil. Additionally, spread these foreign matches out throughout the year so that one full set of matches isnt played outside of England at the same time.

Then you're taking away home games for 10 teams. And for some clubs who highly depend on matchday revenue, it won't help.

I don't have a link but the Asian Football Federation (im not sure on their exact name) have said they don't want official Premiership matches either.

They've got to stick up for their clubs, if top EPL teams are constantly sent over to Asia, they might have even more youngsters supporting them, taking away future supporters of their local and domestic teams.

Why not just have overseas friendlies?

Or hell even set up a EPL only special cup which awards alot of money to the winner and a nice polished trophy to make sure clubs send their first teams

Guatemala was trounced by Argentina's Olympic team at the Coliseum last week, after which Hernan Dario Gomez quit as coach.

Gomez, who coached his native Colombia to the 1998 World Cup and Ecuador to the 2002 World Cup, was blunt and bitter in his resignation speech after having a 5-11-4 record in 22 months in charge of Guatemala.

"It would be a failure if I had been coaching Argentina," he said. "It would be a failure if I had been coaching Italy. But, with all respect, it's not a failure because Guatemala has never won anything."

That was my initial thought back when this came out, but I was told that the stars likely wouldn't be in such matches.
