Well, with Muddlesbrough going out, Portsmouth are the only Prem team still in the cup. If WBA win there'll be a guaranteed Championship team at the final.

Excellent. Now lets hope Arsenal get a good run going in the league and that Manchester United get drawn against Chelsea in Europe...

Wigans pitch would embarrass a lower lower level team.

Arsenal seems to be falling apart.

Union : posh southern people with baggy trousers
League : working class northerners with falsetto-causing shorts...

Is it covered in sand like, lets say for example, erm... Chelsea's was?

I'm surprised the planetary alignments are never blamed for Arsenal not winning...

Wigans pitch is worse than amateur. They manages to relay the pitch in Milan before Arsenals CL match. Why couldnt they do the same in Wigan?

Main difference is rugby league they have 6 tackles (downs) to score but rugby union they keep the ball until the other team takes it from them.

Or Man Utds pitch not long ago which looked like Blackpool beach, we have this master plan in Wigan were when opponents play on this poor pitch but when Wigan get the ball we roll out the perfect pitch.

Anyone here with any knowledge of Irish football?

I'm just curious what the deal is with the newly formed league structure and who are the best teams historically as well as who is looking good for this year and the near future?

I can appreciate that both teams have to play on the same scarred pitch; but at the highest level the pitch shouldnt look like a public school pitch.

Yet it was nice to see Arsenal stumble.

Not surprising that Wenger remarked about the pitch but didn't see the clear penalty, a blind man actually sees more than Wenger.

Shamrock and Shelbourne have won most titles, Shelbourne are the top team but despite winning the championship lost their license and were relegated.
