Art Thiel: Sonics shame is Clay Bennett's Grand plan

This is pretty sad, I can't believe that the owners will approve the move to oklahoma city with the injustice to the Seattle Sonics fans. 40 years of basketball history erased. The sonics are horrible right now....

Sonics' latest indignity all part of Bennett's grand plan

It's not about money. One of the owners even admitted that moving to OKC might mean less money in the long run. They are moving the team because they can be local heroes.

Why not just have an expansion team?

ESPNNEWS,Sportscenter and NBATV never talked about the story this past week only showed it happened.
David Stern approves then to move to OK City.
The NBA were to expand cities like Anahiem,KC,Tampa Bay would get a team.
A vote is going to happen this week.

I was just wondering if anyone has asked the Sonics players what they think of the situation. Do they care one way or the other?

For the most part, I think they're of the opinion that they'll play wherever the money tells them to play.

Approving the move was a foregone conclusion. What isn't a foregone conclusion is the lawsuit.

My brother lived briefly in Seattle and said an accurate generalization of the people is "passive-aggressive" with a serious antipathy towards sports.

Is that accurate, Boom Boom (or any other Pac. Northwesters)?

If you Win in Seattle, every seat in Arena no matter how crappy it is will be sold out. The only thing we hate is losing...and we won't pay for it either....Win or nothing else.

Take a look at the Mariners, Seahawks and the Sonics in 03' I think and the 90's....

Favorite Team by Era in Seattle.

1930-1960's- Seattle Rainers (PCL)
1970's- Sonics
1980's- Seahawks
1991-1997*- Sonics
1995-2004 Mariners
2004- Seahawks.

*for a season or two was the top with the Mariners...

John Saunders said last night on NBA Coast to Coast that their's some NHL team that might want to move and maybe then Seattle can keep the Sonics to.
