I think we can still finish the season on 158-4...

Let's see if we can get the Tigers to 0-9 on the season

So, there will be the ring ceremony today, starting from 1PM ET, and Daisuke will have his 3rd Start of the season. (Japan opener, season opener, and the home opener)

I definately wouldn't want to be facing the Tigers right now. After being swept by KC and the White Sox, they're gonna be out for blood.

I was at the game today. I was pretty much blown away by the ceremony and such. The game itself was also pretty good.

Yeah, that's pretty embarassing, being beaten by the Royals!!!

They just didn't take their chances yesterday and their fielding left a lot to be desired.

Great game yesterday. Spent the afternoon across the street from Fenway at the Cask and Flagon. Needless to say, I have a heavy head this morning

Nice to officially heal the Billy Buckner wounds. Next year, I wonder if Bucky Dent will throw out the first pitch.

I watched the ring ceremony, Buckner, Neil Diamond (Boy that was horrible!), the game, everything from 1AM Japan time~6AM this morning.

I had to get to the office by 9AM this morning as usual, and I had the business dinner until 1AM today.

Thank God I do not have to play some pre-season games in LA and head to Toronto after that!

IT WAS A GREAT DAY.

They were swept by 2 division rivals, supposedly the 2 weakest rivals at that. That's why I said what I said. The Royals are not push overs any longer. They have a good squad who should at least have a chance to get to the .500 mark this year.

So, finally, the Tigers win.

Lester had a tough time against the RH-filled Tigers lineup, as expected.

Another No hit day for Papi, Lowell is day-to-day, The bullpen does not look very sharp...

If we look at the bright side...

Dice-K looking good so far in 2008, Drew is off to a much better start, and Manny has looked to be somehow very excited to play baseball !

I hope the Sox will somehow manage to survive this month with around .500 mark... (Tough opponents, tough schedule)

Bring it ONNNN!!!!!

One of us could be top tonight...

I'm trying to telepathically get Girardi to start F********h tonight (and tomorrow as well) and make him go nine innings regardless...

After 7 games, Drew is batting .440/.483/.720 - now if he can keep that going for the remainder of the season, that $15m a season won't look so bad...

Agreed! My thinking: You guys get tired out swinging and running the bases, figure at least 7 AB's in a nine inning game, and then are too tired to do anything the rest of the series. Yankees take the series, two games to one. Yes, indeed.

No F********h, tonight...
Wang has been just unhittable so far.

Oh BTW, thanks to Bobby A for that Drew's HR!
Without your help, it could have been a No-Hitter!

Beautiful HR from Manny to win the game.

Some thoughts after the game.

1. Coco, all of a sudden, became a bunting machine.
But I do not care, as long as he continues to somehow contribute to the team...

2. Timlin got the first out of the season (Well, at lease that is how I felt), and surprisingly, got out of the inning witout any damage for the first time in 2008! Way to go, Mike! He could certainly help the bullpen with the way he threw tonight!

3. Lester, just like Dice-K, is sometimes so painful to watch. There are times I feel like they totally lose the ability to throw strikes!

4. I am now officially worried about Papi. Not just because of the results he's had so far, but I do not like how he looks at the plate at all. He looks like he is still bothered by the knee or something.

5. I love Pappelbon. I love the fact that he is the closer for the Red Sox.
God I would hate him if he was the closer for the other teams!

6. It is just me maybe, but everytime Pedroia takes one of his full swing at the plate, I am worried that either his arm or leg would come off his body, and he would just fall apart... He is so small, and yet sometimes he swings a bat like he is Canseco...

In general, I think the Sox are doing very well, given that odd and tough schedule for the past month or so.

Another huge HR for Manny.
He's been just unstoppable in those ABs when games are on line.
I love watching him enjoy the games now!

We just hope that the SPs will last little longer in the games so that the MRs could use some rest time to time.

Yes, Manny's been a monster so far this year. I can admire him and his 496 HR's despite his lack of class at times. He sure has killed us already in 2008.
