Awesome start by Duchscherer, horrible finish for him.

Pulled with "slight biceps tendinitis" after 6 innings and 72 pitches, and he was DOMINATING.

Now he may miss his next start. Sigh

dola,

And now for what I really came here to post: Rich Harden scratched for tonight's start - will go Saturday instead. Chad Gaudin to be activated from the DL to go tonight.

Does this mean goodbye, Dan Johnson? That is my guess.

ESPN - Report: Harden scratched from start vs. Blue Jays - MLB

From the Chronicle:

Quote:
The A's have scratched Rich Harden for tonight's game in Toronto with back soreness, specifically in the lat area.
The injury is believed to be minor and it might have been the aftereffects of the long flights to and from Japan last month. Harden is now expected to start at Cleveland on Saturday.

I'm prepared for another year of watching the DL.

I do feel optimistic about the year though. I think we're in for a bunch of surprises and some good baseball. I'm stoked it baseball season.

Not without Harden. Blanton is not a #1 - a completely healthy Harden is.

Blanton/Gaudin/Duchscherer/Eveland/Greg Smith is *not* a very high quality rotation, and Duchscherer is probably hurt too.

In 2 years that will be a fantastic rotation, though

What I mean by optimistic is 75ish wins. After the trades this off season, I was really pessimistic about even hitting 70 wins.

That's a nice time for Buck to get his first base hit.

Geren was channeling Ken Macha with that set of moves.

Yea it was fun to watch. Brown, Foulke, and Street looked pretty good along with the offense. Cust's FC/RBI/E6 was classic.

So, Greg Smith was called up to start today in Duchscherer's place, but that means that both a 40 man and 25 man spot need to be cleared for him.

Speculation is either Chavez to the 60 day DL or Dan Johnson DFA'd/traded. Some rumors say that DJ is headed to the Giants.

I would be surprised if DJ doesn't go to the Giants. Seems like the most logical thing for both teams.

I will likely miss the rest of this series, limited internet access for a few days.

That would be a fate worse then death for DJ. -Although He's a better person to bat 4th than Molina.

Of course, I could bat 6th in that lineup.
