6-1 in the first. Frank must have given them a hell of a pep talk.

8-1 on the Mike Sweeney "I'm fighting to keep my job" 2-run double.

Good move picking up the Big Hurt. Nice low risk high reward scenario.

I'm actually a little surprised. I like Sweeney a little more than Big Frank because he can play the field. I guess they think that Barton can have an injury free year.

-Unless we keep both Sweeney and Thomas.

Sounds like that could have been posted in 2006.

I'm surprised and excited to see him back. Of course, now I'm having unrealistic dreams of another 2006 Frank and shocking the baseball world and winning the World Series.

His first three bagger since 2002.

Yup, yup!!! And, third best in MLB (right behind the D-backs and Cubs).

Billy Beane strikes again. Everyone had the A's pegged for dead last. The nice part is that the A's haven't hit the part of the season where the usually go on a rampage. If they can keep this up, they will make a nice run for October.

I can't wait to get over to a game. $35 now gets you an Upper Reserved seat, with all the trimmings (All You Can Eat Hot Dogs, Sodas, Popcorn, Peanuts, Ice Cream). Not a bad deal really ... given ticket prices at McAfee (those once $4 bleachers are now $13.00 and those Field Level seats now fetch $50). In the end, the $35 All Inclusive isn't a bad deal -- especially if you can knock down 3-5 dogs and a jumbo sized soda in the course of a game.

Go A's.

Actually that sounds like a great deal! I had similar tickets (but with more food options) in Cleveland for ~$100.

And they still lead all of baseball in batting average with RISP!

I know eventually they'll come back to earth, but it's fun while it's lasting.

Don't forget the Nachos. They're included in the AYCE ticket.

If we win one of the next two we will finish April with the best record in the AL. Does anyone know the last time that happened? I'm guessing it would be a while ago since most of the playoff appearances came with great second half runs.

Wow guys! What a week!

I mean my Ray's have swept 2 straight...but Billy Beane ...always finds cheap pieces.

Thomas seems to be happy back in Oak.

More or less just a bump. The A's avoided the sweep and are playing the 'good pitching / no hitting' type games that I expected in the beginning of the year.

It's good to see Cust get on his first hot streak of the year. It seems like he has a good week/week and a half, then go dormant for 2 or 3.

Those first 2 Rangers games were pretty bad.

However, Greg Smith is quickly becoming one of my favorite A's. I don't know what it is, but he has a "Hudson-esque" air about him.

I'm going to the game tomorrow (5/6) with one of the other guys in the GUBA - he's flying out from Vegas tomorrow morning. I'm hoping to score some kickass tickets somewhere.
