Twins 08

I'm not as pessimistic as most Twins fans I know. I don't think they'll make the playoffs, but I do think they'll finish with a better record than last year. I don't think we'll be able to turn the TV on any day and expect a victory, but I think they're going to have streaks where they got hot and win and streaks where they are cold and can't win.

I look forward to seeing a young team outperform expectations. I think we're not doing seeing moves (I still think Nathan needs to be traded and hope they do - he didn't get a trade clause, did he?).

It's going to be weird not seeing Santana or Hunter in Twins uniforms. I haven't heard much out of opening day roster, have they announced the opening day starter (Hernandez?)

Looks like Blackburn will start the year in the majors at the expense of Liriano.

Oh goodness that was sweet...Hunter lines out to Harris and flips to Morneau for a barehander!

I like this Gomez guy a lot.

He plays like an excited 22 year old. And he isn't Jason Tyner out there. He can actually play baseball.

That was a very good at-bat from Gomez. Hard to see those kind of at-bats from young players.

I think the Twins are going to forgot about Hunter by the end of this year. You guys will be very happy.

Go-Go Gadget Gomez* kicks ass!!

After going the whole pregame talking about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I haven't heard them mention Torii's name since his last at bat. I think Dick and Bert have already done some forgetting.

Go-Go Gadget bunt
Go-Go Gadget double
Go-Go Gadget steal
Go-Go Gadget walk

*I'm totally claiming "Go-Go Gadget Gomez" as my own.

Lets not get too crazy. I dont think anyone will be forgetting Torii Hunter no matter how well Gomez plays. If you honestly believe people will forget Hunter you are missing how much twins fans loved Torii Hunter.

I hope Gomez does well but I would be very surprised if he hits over .250 this year.

No, they will forget. Like every team does.

Seriously, of course they won't actually forget him. He meant a lot to them. But they will cherish what they have now.

That's why they signed him, right? Man, is incredibly consistent. And it's been for the good.

If he can go 7 innings giving up anywhere from 0-7 hits and keep the Twins in the game...I'm gonna have to eat my words. Though thats the pessimist in me after seeing Ponson/Ortiz suck last year. It's still early...but I'm hoping!
