Their pitching is set to improve as people come off the DL, so if the kids in the OF keep playing the way they have been, I see no reason that the Cards won't go well beyond my preseason expectations.

One thing that is a bit troublesome is the number of RISP we are leaving on base. Especially when they get there with less than two outs.

Wow, another solid win. This might become a trend...

They better be careful with this winning streak. It's starting to make suckers like me believe they have a chance at the division.

Disappointing end to a good game. I don't know what it is but I just hate that juice box for a stadium. Seems like every time we lose in that stadium is because of a bunch of solo home runs...

I bet having Glaus bowl you over at the plate isn't fun!

Another good win. I keep waiting for this offense to bust out. Here's hoping it happens soon.

I don't care if they win 1-0 every night, and hit .150 as a team!

Another W. 6-4. Albert got his first two HRs. Maybe Backe should open his mouth before every game...

Another GREAT win!

The local radio guys have been h8ting on the Cards all winter...it is fun to watch them backtrack now.

Kevin Slaten, radio shock jock is gone..arguably, the biggest jerk I have ever met. He went to high school with my brother in law, and I have met him on several occasions. Opinionated a$$hole.

Slaten put on Dave Duncan on the air, without Duncan's knowledge...he thought it was just a phone call. Hilarity ensued, as Duncan just RIPPED him. Heh heh.

Kyle Lohse's nearest match, according to baseball-reference, is Jeff Suppan. This is seriously overlooked by the media. Supe pitched pretty darned well for the Cardinals.

Barton looks to be a real find, and Skip Schumaker has played brilliantly so far. I don't think Skip can play 162 games, but I sure do like the way Tony is platooning his outfield. Schumaker DOES have a lifetime .292 batting average, over about 310 PA's.

Barton, and Schumaker each got an outfield assist last night, and I believe that Skip has two already this year.

Stop me before I become a believer. IF Pinero and Clement come back, healthy, then the Cards will have a fine, deep bullpen. I would almost prefer for Mulder and Carpenter to be held back until they are COMPLETELY healthy.

I've been reading the whole Slaten thing on stltoday.com and I think its hilarious. I really like the way this team has come together. I too would prefer to see Mulder and Carp held back util they are ready or really needed.

A great win, simply because last year's Cardinals wouldn't have won that game. Not after being down 5. And again not after blowing the lead in the 9th.

Got back from today's game a little while ago.

3-3 in the ninth, and the Cards push across a run to win for Wainwright. First and second, one out, and Schumaker hits a single to left, that goes right the f*** under the left fielders glove. Excellent!

GREAT part of the game was when Oswalt hit LaRue, and on the very first pitch of the next half-inning, Wainwright throws behind Ausmus.

EVERYBODY was on the infield. Both teams, bullpens, benches, everybody.

The packed house at Busch was roaring pretty good.

Bad blood is now official with the Astros and Cardinals.

Yeah I've been to a Cards-Astros game (in Houston) and love the atmosphere of those games.

I think it started in 2005, when Albert hit one nine miles vs. Lidge.

Prior to that, Lidge was one scary dude. He throws HARD!

The heck of it is, is that I REALLY like the Astros. Biggio and Bags were class acts, as are their current players.

Except maybe Tejeda....

Brandon Backe is going to get killed today....he will hit somebody, and he'll never make it out of town.

I remember watching that homerun and thought it reminded me of the homeruns I hit with Pujols in MVP2005....
