And yeah, I hope this victory inspires them to move onto Round 2. I think if the Flames can do that, they could be legit contenders.

The Red Mile lives!

That was a bit frustrating. 3 quick goals and I was sure this was gonna be a big win. However, after Marleau got rocked into the boards, the Flames really turned it on. On top of that, CuJo has always been a Shark killer. He stopped everything when he got in. Oh well, the Sharks need to put it together on Tuesday.

Bruins fan here. I'm happy they beat the habs last night. It was a frustrating loss on Saturday.

I still can't get used to some of the penalties getting called/non-called. It just makes me wish for the old days again

Yeah, I suppose it's very close to a do-or-die game for them. And if you take it to an individual level, it's also veryy close to a do-or-die game for Joe Thornton. If he continues his invisible ways and the Sharks lose this series, he's pretty much got to win a Conn Smythe to shake the playoff choker label.

Habs Fan here.

The penalty situation is frustrating. A lot of non-calls on both sides yesterday and some undeserved penalties too.

How do you like it that 1/4 of the arena in Boston is filled with Chara-booing-Habs-fan?

When they said the game was sold out, I knew there were going to be a lot of habs fans there! Its gonna take a while (or a series victory) to bring back a lot of long time fans)

I don't get the whole booing of Chara anyway, it would make me tired to do that every time a certain player touched the puck.

BAck to the penalties, some of the stick infractions are beyond ridiculous. I don't know about the Montreal announcers, but the Bruins announcers seem stunned at some of the calls.

Montreal announcers were also pointing to the inconsistency of the two referees. I wonder if it would be a good idea to keep the same crew together for an entire serie... maybe that would help?

We booed Crosby in Montreal... don't know why, but it's kinda fun to try and distract them or just have plain fun because we don't like the guy. Other guy who got booed this year : Jagr, Avery, Tucker and Briere.

While I'm 100% a Stars fan, I have some unexplainable sympathy for the Flames and am happy for them.

Well, maybe it's not unexplainable:
1.) I hate the Sharks.
2.) I really, really, really hate the Oilers (Stars/Oilers playoff series have always been rough).
3.) Our local minor league team is a Flames affiliate.
4.) I hate the Sharks.
5.) I really, really, really hate the Oilers.

So, go ahead and win this one, Calgary.

Which is why it wont' happen. It'd be rating death (for the US markets. remember, the Canadian one doesnt' matter at the league front office.)

There is also that Iginla was traded for Nieuwendyk. Of course Iginla would have been fantastic for the Stars, but Joe did help win the Cup. Seems like a win-win deal.

I have the same preference for Calgary over San Jose, just like Nashville over Detroit and Minnesota over Colorado. But sympathetic feelings like that go straight out the door if the teams beats Dallas in a series. I do not want to dislike teams, so they should not beat the Stars.

Now with Malkin playing the way he is, the question becomes who do you boo on the Penguins. I saw the Sens fans had that problem last night as they tried booing both Malkin and Crosby when they had the puck. The problem with that was they were booing almost half of the game.

As many as it takes...look at the Colorado journalists already bitching and moaning:

I am curious about the "black"out for the game in Dallas. I am that the game is not on Versus or CBC, but that is another story and I hope I can find the game on the radio on the computer.

Anyway, regarding the blackout Turco mentioned the issue of all the black shirt making the puck potentially difficult to see when it is up off the ice. That sounds like something that could get into your head if you give up an early goal and start to dwell on it.

Is it just me or is home ice advantage a bunch of bull?

Not just in the NHL but across the board through the minors and juniors, it seems like the road team is just as likely to be more focused than when they are at home and generally play better. I'm sure the home team in playoff hockey has better than a .500 record, but I bet it's a lot closer to five-hundred than any other sport.
