Nice job by the Stars finishing off Anaheim. They came out looking very energized and survived some early chances against. It started looking like a 1-0 game after that first handful of penalties was over and the game settled down, then when the Ducks got that first goal I was a little concerned. Maybe not quite as ancy as the crowd there at the AAC, but concerned. Then they win it in the third looking good - 3 lines that are a threat to score, defense sturdy (especially considering the kids back there), and solid in goal.

Now to the next round... Which would be better Colorado (with home ice advantage) or San Jose? Neither would be a cakewalk, but neither looks immensely frightening. Guess we will just find out Tuesday and see how they go from there.

Flames with a big victory tonight! Hopefully they can put together back-to-back good games and win Game 7

Yesterday was a great day in the playoffs. Detroit and dallas advanced (die Bettman darlings!), and calagary got it to seven. Now to have Montreal and Calgary win and a great final possibility is still alive.

I'll tell ya, I know this is a baseball board, but IMO, there is nothing, NOTHING that beats playoff hockey. It is just entertaining from start to finish. Every series has been great thus far!

Agreed. The prospect of another Anaheim, Carolina, Tampa, etc. champ was just depressing. Now, lets go Rangers.

Ping: Rest of the NHL

Could you please catch up with the Pens and get your first series over with. I'm getting a little tired of waiting for the next game. Thanks.

I was only half serious as I know tonights game could go either way. But the last two games show what games 2 & 3 should have been like if the B's got a few bounces then. This series could have already been over

Don't get me wrong, half-serious on my part too... Bruins are scary now. I think our only chance to beat them tonight is if they run out of gas, which I don't think they will. But if they do get by us, I think Pittsburg is going to take care of them easily.

My prediction is either Boston really beats us up, like in Game 5, or we win a game we didn't deserve to win...

At least we got a great serie and a very good show...

Wouldn't expect you to see it from a non-canadian fan's perspective

If the real Habs show up, they win. They are the better team.

But if the Habs that have been playing this series show up, congrats Boston.

Yeah, its going to be a good one either way. I'm not one of those fans who will be happy win or lose, because I want to win tonight. With that said. I am still happy that the Bruins have gotten back on the Boston sports map with this great series.

I actually have grown to respect a lot of Montreal players in this series. I found myself hating Komisarek, but then quickly realized how much I would love him in a B's uniform. Koivu has always been a B's killer, and Kostopoluos is the kind of gritty player the Canadiens need more of to beat the B's

Its gonna be a nail biter tonight!

The Habs are not playing well at all. Streit, Plekanec, Kovalev, Markov, Higgins (save for 2 games), Hamrlik and the Kostitsyns are all having a tough time. Komisarek is the only good player who's actually been good. When your best players in a series are Kostopoulos and Brisebois, you're probably in trouble.

I'm putting five down on Boston. They really seem to have mesmerized the Habs' offense, and it had been a while since I'd seen the Habs so disorganized on the power play, seeing the puck get cleared all the time. The talent is there, the Habs probably have the best team in the East, with the highest-scoring offense, three supposedly solid defensemen, and a goalie who has nothing to envy to anyone when he's on. They just seem to have forgotten how good they are.

Are you sure? NHL.com isn't listing VS as having the WAS/PHI game at all.
