It's a sad day in Columbus

Mr. Mac was the man. He's the only reason we even have a team. It sucks that he never got to see them play a playoff game. |

He might bounce back. I'm not sure the Habs will be any better with Halak in net.

As a Habs fan I have to say it's tough to watch. However I prefer to look at the glass as half full. The series isn't over by a long shot, and if nothing else, these young players are gaining some valuable experience this year as we head into 08/09, our 100th anniversary as a franchise.

Rangers forward Sean Avery hospitalized with lacerated spleen - Yahoo! News NEW YORK - New York Rangers forward Sean Avery has been hospitalized after lacerating his spleen during a playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In a statement Wednesday, the team said the noted agitator was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center after New York's 5-3 loss Tuesday night and was admitted following a CT scan. Avery, whose spleen was not removed and isn't expected to need surgery, likely will be hospitalized for a few days, team spokesman John Rosasco said. Michael Fagan, spokesman for St. Vincent's Medical Center, said Avery is in "stable" condition.

I am not a huge fan of either team, but I really wanted to see a Habs - Penguins series. It would most likely be a very entertaining series. I'm not counting Montreal out yet as they are unlucky to be down 3-1, but it is going to be tough.
Go Detroit!!!

I was thinking that last night. Of course I'd rather have the Habs advance as I like their team, but it would also make for a much better series vs. Pittsburgh. They'll have to get really lucky to win the series - it's not like they can dominate much more .

That seems pretty impossible. 28 shots in 2 periods last night, and some quality ones, and they just couldn't get a break.

I'm getting the same feeling watching Price that I had when I watched Ankiel melt down in the playoffs.
The problem is that if he's mentally broken, I don't think he can come back in three years as a forward. Maybe it's a blip and he'll be awesome in the third period.

Yeah, there was nothing he could do about the 5th goal.
Congrats to the Flyers, they simply outplayed the Habs for most of 5 games, and even when they didn't, Biron did.

1. They haven't met a tough team yet. The Predators had probably the worst roster of all play-off teams (although the Senators played like they did). The Avs were the most banged-up team among all post-season teams. 2. Goaltending. The Wings' skaters are good, but they're not good enough to put together a cup-winnign campaign with either Osgood or a 43-year-old Hasek between the pipes. |
