Evgeni Malkin - what a performance last night.

Sets up a goal
Scores a goal
Takes a hard hit
Scores a goal
Dishes out hard hits

He keeps this up and he gets serious consideration for the Conn Smythe. He even took a run at Hatcher last night. Kind of reminds me of Ovechkins first season when he wasn't afraid to run at anyone, including Chara.

If the Pens continue to play like they did last night they'll have no problem handling the Flyers. It was obvious pretty early on they weren't intimidated by the Flyers roughness.

I love how everyone complains about the Flyers getting "outplayed" in every series and then when the Flyers play the much better 1st period but find themselves down 3-2 the Pens were "handling" them.

Lots of Flyers haters on here that's for sure.

I'm not a Flyer hater.

I didn't complain about them getting outplayed.

I called it the way I saw it. The Pens obviously weren't intimidated. As for who played the better 1st period, imo it was pretty equal. Of course opinions are subjective, and yours differs from mine no doubt.

The main jist of my thread was to compliment the job Malkin did. Surely you can't deny that?

Of course, I would expect nothing less from one of the top 5 forwards in the NHL.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Osgood-Ribeiro incident yet. I'm very surprised that there were no suspensions.

On second thought, this is the NHL and unless your name is Chris Simon, you can pretty much get away with anything.

Well... given that last spring Pronger got one game for attempted beheading, nothing sounds exactly right for Ozzy and Ribeiro.

Ozzy and Rib are seven times offenders as well?

Well, after watching the Pens/Flyers game 3 last night I have to say I'm a bit perturbed by some of the dirty play going on. In particular, the knee on knee shots. Both teams took liberties with this. Some penalties were called, some weren't. That's not what bothers me though. These types of things have to be taken out of the game, period. Knee on knee shots are cheap, dirty, and a good way to end or limit a players career.

I'm not a Pens or Flyers fan, but I enjoy watching guys like Malkin, Crosby, Briere play hockey. It makes the viewing pleaseure so much more enjoyable. If the stars of the game are sidelined or have their careers shortened because of cheap shots, well it takes away from the enjoyment of watching hockey.

I really hope the league looks at the knee on knee infractions and does something to curb them, or better yet, eliminate them altogether. They are just too dangerous.

Man o man, the NHL needs to sit down with the officials and define goaltender interference. This is getting ridiculous. Last night they call interference on Zetts and he's not touching Turco. Tonight on Briere's goal, he mows Fleury over then pokes the puck in and it stands.

Let's get some consistency with this call please.
